If no one said All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.”, then someone should have, because it is true. The same thing goes for bullies and injustice. As scary as it can be, if you are going to consider yourself human, then you have to speak out for what it right.

An article in the Canadian Times Colonist reports the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) intend to retain information on people who have not done anything wrong. The RCMP argues "If you haven't done anything wrong and there's no issues, what's to be worried about?" Yeah right, the call from all law enforcement organisations. I thought the RCMP had integrity. http://www.timescolonist.com/news/Licence+plate+surveillance+more+loss+privacy/7044396/story.html?goback=%2Egde_42462_member_143752586
.
I do not know if you understand how the NSW number plate recognition system works; the Police receive details of all unregistered motor vehicles. As vehicles approach the spot check their number plates are read by the computer and run against the list. If the vehicle is listed as unregistered it is pulled over about 100 metres down the road.
.
Then a series of checks are down, including driver licence, outstanding warrants, stolen vehicles etc. It appears the sort of person who drives an unregistered vehicle is the same sort that would have outstanding warrants against them or be silly enough to drive whilst unlicensed or drive a stolen vehicle. The number of other matters that are cleared up through the process is amazing.
.
The important thing is only vehicles that are unregistered get pulled over, so innocent parties do not get intercepted. So be thankful you live in Australia and not Canada
