In its story #news.cnet.com reported on Policy and privacy: Five reasons why 2012 mattered. One of these I mentioned in my Blog on 5th and 10th December. My concern was in relation to a proposal by the International Telecommunication Union to "allow governments to justify the censorship of legitimate speech, or even cut off Internet access in their countries."
Fortunately, though public outrage and action this proposal and 4 others designed to encroach on individual freedoms were defeated. It gives you a warm feeling in your stomach and some hope for the future that the good guys can actually win, even when matched against big government or big business.
